Installing 650 solar panels using rope access on 8 different sloping roofs.
On the 8 sloping roofs of the city hall in Zaandam.
Our team installed aluminium frames on the sloping roofs, which were then filled with solar panels. All cables are connected to the inverter as a bundle through the roof. By installing fall-arrest nets in the gutter we prevented any loose parts from falling down. A team of 3 technicians worked non-stop on this beautiful assignment for about 3 months.
The corner of the roof was too sloping to walk on, making rope access the best way to install the panels. There are also bus lanes under the city hall, which is located above train station Zaandam, so no aerial work platform or scaffolding could be placed.
